At this point it is important to note that while there are teats that only allow small amounts of milk into your baby's mouth...it is still more than what your baby would get from breast-feeding. Also remember too that the nipple is what your baby will latch on to, so the nipple will experience a lot of wear-and-tear.

It is advisable to buy baby-feeding-bottles that are sturdy and will last for a long time. The reason being that bottles have to be washed and sterilized many many times over. Think about it, baby will need approximately 8 feedings a day! Also if you are thinking of going back to work again, you will require extra bottles to store your own milk in for your baby when you are at work.

With the platic bottle concerns the glass alternatives made a comeback. They are more durable (just don't drop them) and if it makes you feel better with your baby feeding with them then it is a sensible option, however, being glass, it is much heavier and easier to break.

There are also specialized feeding bottles for your baby on the market. Some of these are designed to prevent colic by limiting the amount of air that baby swallows. Other bottles have disposable liners which cuts out the chore os sterilization, however the cost of these would run quite high over the months, but if time is important, then these types of bottles may be right for you and your baby.
